Kelly Cowan

Kelly Cowan Bio

Her yoga journey began back in 2007, while she was playing varsity volleyball at the University of Regina. She learned quickly breath was everything; her practice supported her athletic performance both with strength/flexibility as well as coping under stressful situations on the court. Throughout her 5 years in Regina she lived her life focused on her discipline and passion for sport, this will always be apart of who she is as a person.

Once starting her career at lululemon Winnipeg, her love for yoga continued to grow. Her passion for the Winnipeg yoga community has been going strong since 2009, venturing to as many different studios and experiencing a variety of types of yoga and teachers. She is currently a key member of the lululemon community team and has created strong lasting relationships with many teacher/studio owners in the city over the past 8 years.

Her career at lululemon has given her the chance to be the opening store manager of the youth girl version of lululemon, ivivva. She spent 2 year building a community and realizing her love for youth/teen yoga. This propelled her to complete her Mini Yogis Yoga for Kids Teacher Training in May 2015. Once this goal was completed she realized that receiving more of a foundational training was needed to begin her dream of opening a youth yoga studio here in Winnipeg.

It was September 2016 Kelly decided to take the plunge and commit to a 200 hr vinyasa yoga teacher training led by the inspiring, Liane Cherrett (The Empowerment Project). She spent that year learning the fundamentals of the vinyasa practice while developing tools to provide service to many different areas of our community. She got the chance to experience everything from prenatal and youth, inversions and seniors, to anxiety and mindfulness. This was a life-changing year for her; it supported her in finding her teaching voice and realizing her true potential.

Kelly’s purpose is to inspire others to share love and compassion with the world. If we all came from this place with others and ourselves…how would the world shift?

To Kelly, yoga means the path to self-love. Her classes are playful and genuine she believes that the key to transformation is presence, this happens by becoming one with your breath. She is passionate about challenging yourself to see what is possible. She provides a caring and open environment to explore getting out of your comfort zone; this is where you truly find new soul filling experiences.

Jen Rodgers bio

She first started practicing yoga in 2006 as a way to relieve anxiety. Discovering that yoga offered her that and so much more she began to study a variety of styles from many different yoga teachers. She completed a 200 hour vinyasa yoga teacher training in 2015, prenatal yoga teacher training in 2017 and is currently completing an additional 100 hours of vinyasa training with Liane Cherrett. She believes that yoga helps her to maintain a calm mind, steady breathe and an ability to experience love and beauty more deeply. She is fascinated by the many life lessons that can be found both on and off the mat and is inspired to assist others in experiencing the same. In her free time you will find her at the lake, being creative in the kitchen or dreaming up her next adventure!
